Rogue Gallart (born June 12, 1969 in Manhattan, NYC) worked for Sony Music Entertainment's A & R department from1989-1993. Rogue Gallart was 2nd assistant responsible for scouting and artist development through the early 1990's. He was also responsible for the scouting of new and current talent to flourish through the new "Sony" family since the changeover in 1991. He is credited with working with such new and current artists as Bruce Springstein, Pearl Jam, Living Colour, Alice in Chains, Cypress Hill, Alice Cooper, Barbara Streisand, Mariah Carey, Tony Bennet, Harry Connick Jr and Celine Dion.In the Music Industry, A&R (Artists and Repertoire) is the division of a record label company that is responsible for scouting and artist development. It is the link between the recording artist/act and the record label, generally to help with the artistic and commercial development of the label's artists. An A&R person is often required to handle contractual negotiations, find songwriters and record producers for the act, and schedule recording sessions. In the UK, before the rise of the Record Producer, the A&R Manager would oversee recording sessions and assume responsibility for making creative decisions relating to the recording.In 1994-1995 he moved to Universal Music Group working for the Video promotions department. (UMG) is the largest business group and family of record labels in the recording industry. With a 25.5% market share, it is one of the Big Four record labels. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Vivendi. He worked with such artists as Live, Meat Loaf and Elton John.Rogue studied Criminal psychology at Hunter College /John Jay College of Criminal Justice but changed industry fields from Criminal Law to the Music Industry. In the years that followed through the 1990's his focus remained in the A&R and video promotions field of the Music Industry. He currently moved on in 1996 to work for Turner Broadcasting System/ CNN to continue into the licensing division of media. He then followed in 1997-1999 to continue in the music/fashion Industry at Ralph Lauren as a fashion advisor/coordinator.
