absorbing sunlight
I'm not sure but chloroplasts (i think) control the cell activities so probably control the cambium!:)
Chloroplasts need sunlight for development. However, there are plants that do not have chloroplasts and therefore, do not need sunlight. Some of these plants include rhizomes, tubers, and root crops. Window leaf plants and parasitic plants also do not have chloroplasts.
chloroplasts
Cells without chloroplasts are typically specialized for functions other than photosynthesis. These cells may perform tasks such as energy production (mitochondria), storage (vacuole), structure (cell wall), or communication (nervous system). Overall, cells without chloroplasts serve a variety of essential roles within multicellular organisms.
The most specialized level of organization is the organelle within a cell. Organelles are membrane-bound structures that perform specific functions necessary for the cell's survival and functioning. Examples include the nucleus, mitochondria, and chloroplasts.
A cell wall, chloroplasts, a nucleus, and a vacuole which is in a leaf cell and just to let you know the chloroplasts make the leaf green.

chloroplasts
A plant palisade cell is specialized for photosynthesis and is elongated to maximize light absorption. It contains a high number of chloroplasts for photosynthesis and is located near the upper surface of the leaf to receive maximum sunlight.

animal cells do not have chloroplasts
The only cell that has chloroplasts is plant cell
Animal cells have a cell membrane but do not have chloroplasts or a cell wall.
Plants have cell walls made of cellulose, chloroplasts for photosynthesis, and large central vacuoles for storage. Animals lack cell walls and chloroplasts, and have smaller or absent vacuoles. Additionally, plant cells can differentiate into various types of cells as needed, while animal cells are mostly specialized and do not differentiate as easily.
