i dont know i came on this site 4 homework but there is no answer im soory but its not my fault.
If the faucet leaks one ounce of water per minute, it would waste 60 ounces in an hour and 1,440 ounces in a day. This would amount to 43,830 ounces in a 30-day month and 525,600 ounces in a year. Since 1 gallon is equivalent to 128 ounces, the leaked water would amount to 4,110 gallons in a year.
3.3 billion divided by 20.0 million = 165 years That's assuming the aquifer has zero rainfall to replenish it. Hydrogeology is extremely complex with many variables and it is difficult/impossible to estimate total aquifer recharge. For the Edwards Aquifer in Central Texas, it's estimated at 700,000 acre-feet per year, pre-drought that is. So if you're pumping 20.0 million out and the recharge is less than 1.0 million, you're at a negative 19.0 million per year. Pretty upside down if you ask me. One source claims 1 acre-foot of water equals 325,851 gallons of water and serves 4 people (one family in theory) for one year. That's 80,000 gallons per person per year. Seems extremely high... Another source (HUD) says the average family of three uses about 100,000 gallons of water per year - based on 45k gallons inside and 55k gallons outside - assuming a St. Augustine lawn. This calcs out to about 33,333 gallons per person per year. Seems more reasonable... Based on this, 20.0 million acre-feet per year, or 6.5 trillion gallons per year, serves the needs of 195.0 million people for one year. More or less two thirds of the population of the United States. Note that this only looks at household (inside and out) water use and not industrial water use, golf courses, power plants, fountains, public swimming pools, city grounds and gardens, and on and on.... Hope this helps... Alex.Tango.Fuego
A leaky faucet that drips four ounces of water per minute can waste approximately 5 gallons of water each day. This translates to about 2,082 gallons per year if left unattended. Repairing the leak can help conserve water and reduce utility bills.
On average, a human produces about 0.5 to 1 gallon of poop per day. So, in a year, that would amount to approximately 182 to 365 gallons of poop.
The average household owns 5 televisions every year.
33 GALLONS AN AVERAGE HOUSEHOLD USES 13,500 GALLONS OF WATER PER YEAR TO DO 400 LOADS.
On average, a household in the United States uses about 300 gallons of water per day, which totals approximately 109,500 gallons per year. This figure can vary significantly based on household size, water-efficient appliances, and local climate. Factors like gardening, irrigation, and personal habits also influence overall water usage.
5,110,000 Gallons a year!!!
about 100,000 gallons a year
460 trillion gallons
More then over 1,000,000,000,000,0
millions of gallons of water
I have no idea but if it is 100 milion gallons an hour then it must be over a billion
A lot.
Annually Americans consume 8.6 gallons of bottled water
In a 1996 study conducted by a Maytag R and D team, it was discovered that a high-efficiency washer can save from 3,500 to 6,000 gallons of water per household per year
the same amount of water any human uses in a year: 80-100 gallons of water per day, which translates to about 29,200-36,500 gallons of water per year
