Electrons have a negative charge, and protons have a positive charge.

If i have more protons(plus charges) than electrons(minus charges) overall the atom will have a positive charge(mabye +1 or +2 etc....depending how many more protons there are compared to electrons)

If there are more electrons(minus charges) than protons(plus charges) then overall the atom will have a negative charge(mabye -1 or -2 etc....depending how many more electrons there are compared to protons) These charged atoms are known as ions.

What are the charging of protons electrons and neutrons?

Protons have a positive charge, electrons have a negative charge, and neutrons are neutral and have no charge.

What is the charge of an ion that contains 16 protons?

i think it depends how many electrons it has. then you do something like subtract the electrons from the protons. electrons are negative, protons are positive.

What are the thee particles of the atom respective charges are?

They are neutrons, protons and electrons. The neutrons have zero charge, protons have a positive charge and electrons have a negative charge. They are neutrons, protons and electrons. The neutrons have zero charge, protons have a positive charge and electrons have a negative charge.

Are electrons positively charged?

Electrons are negatively charged, protons are positively charge and neutrons have no charge.

Protons and electrons have this?

Protons and electrons have mass and charge.

Negatively charged particles in an atom?

An atom contains neutrons, protons and electrons. Neutrons have a neutral charge (no charge), protons have a positive (+) charge and electrons have a negative (-) charge. Hope this Helps!

Charge of an atom?

The charge of an atom is determined by the balance of protons and electrons it contains. Protons carry a positive charge while electrons carry a negative charge. When an atom has an equal number of protons and electrons, it is electrically neutral. If an atom gains or loses electrons, it becomes an ion with a net positive or negative charge.

What electrons have a charge?

Electron's have a negative charge, Protons have a positive charge.

If an object has more electrons than protons it has what type of charge?

Since protons have a positive charge and electrons have a negative charge, an atom with more protons than electrons would have a positive charge. Note that an atom with this kind of imbalance is known as an ion.

What charges do proton an electrons have?

Pprotons have a positive charge neutrons have no charge and electrons have a negative charge. However the one with the smallest mass is electrons.

WHAT Are the two types of electric charges found on electrons and protons?

Protons are positive, and electrons are negative.

If five electrons combine with 3 protons the net charge will be?

The net charge will be negative, since electrons have a negative charge and protons have a positive charge. When 5 electrons (-5) combine with 3 protons (+3), the net charge will be -2.
