Yes. For the most part all 1979-1983 280zx transmissions are pretty much the same, manual to manual and auto to auto. The turbo transmission from 81-83 however is a Borg Warner T-5 style toploader. Something tells me through experience is that they will bolt up to a non turbo motor, but the driveshafts and rear end will need to be changed. Also, be aware that the older Z's from 70-78 will bolt up, but the driveshafts would definitely need to be swapped, especially if you are putting a 4 speed into it for whatever reason.

AnswerIt's called a bump stop. See http://datsunparts.com/1343 for an older datsun model - not sure if this will will work in a 280zx. Or you can make your own. A bolt that has a tall head on it will work. Be sure to put a but on the back so that it does not fall off while you are driving.
