yeah, any animal can be gay, if we are using labels that is. It is arguable that nobody is actually gay or straight, but we just feel attracted to other beings. The reason the ratio of gay:straight sways toward straight as a majority, if this theory is correct although there s no proven theory to what causes someone to become gay, is arguably because society fills our heads with dribble about which sex we 'should' be attracted to but the impact of events throughout each individual's life causes the attraction to the same sex to become apparent. Assuming that animals don't have the influence of society, that would mean yes animals can be gay. :) xx

Animal researchers in the past have ignored homosexuality in mammals due to their own ignorance biases. It was written off as mutant anomalies. Now, they realize that was a huge mistake and are studying the phenomena. Many mammals have what is called same sex 'pair bonding' wherein two mammals of the same sex, pair bond for life. They are also instinctual led to breed with opposite sex like animals, but then return to the same sex 'buddy'. Ahhh...then there are the Bonobo monkeys that exhibit just about every sexual orientation you can imagine!

As of the present, there are no clear conclusions to draw from homosexual animal behavior to human homosexual behavior. It is interesting though and should be taught as part of science, not shame......
