The cracks in an ice glacier are called crevasses. They form due to the movement of the glacier over uneven terrain, causing the ice to fracture and crack. Crevasses can be dangerous to climbers and hikers as they can be deep and difficult to see.
As a glacier recedes, it deposits materials such as rocks, sand, and gravel that were previously frozen within the ice. These deposits are known as glacial moraines and can vary in size and composition depending on the glacier's movement and the type of material it picks up along its path.
Some places where you can see real glaciers include Alaska, Patagonia in South America, Iceland, Norway, and New Zealand. These locations offer stunning glacial landscapes and opportunities for glacier trekking or ice climbing.
