No - no animal can currently exceed the speed of sound in water. The speed of sound in water is 1,484 m/s (3320 mph). Dolphins and porpoises can swim from 19-54 mph (8-24 m/s). Not even the fastest underwater man-made projectiles can sustain the speed of sound in water for more than a fraction of a second due to the effects of friction. The closest you can get is underwater explosives that create an underwater shock wave and can move some of their exploding mass at supersonic speed for a fraction of a second.
A dolphin is a fast moving animal if you think about it.
Dolphins rely on their speed and agility to evade predators. They may also use their ability to dive deep underwater or swim in a group to confuse predators. Additionally, dolphins have a keen sense of hearing and echolocation, helping them detect threats in their environment.
Streamlining in nature refers to the evolutionary process where organisms have adapted to have a shape that reduces drag and enhances efficiency in movement. For example, aquatic animals like dolphins, sharks, and fish have streamlined bodies that reduce resistance as they move through water, allowing them to swim faster and more smoothly. This adaptation is beneficial for reducing energy expenditure and increasing speed in their natural environment.
Dolphins can swim at speeds of up to 20-25 miles per hour (32-40 kilometers per hour).
There is no effect.
The average speed of a dolphin is 40 km/hr. Certain species of dolphin may swim faster or slower. There are about 40 species of dolphins in the world.
No scientific research actually shows that dolphins are faster then sharks for one reason. They can swim about 24 miles an hour next to a boat for ten to thirty minutes which a shark could only swim for a short amount of time to catch it's food. It's like a speed boost. So dolphins are faster then sharks!
There are some species of sharks that can swim faster than dolphins (some sharks eat dolphins) but there are on the other fin, species of shark that dolphins are faster than. Mako sharks for instance, do swim at bursts of speed of 50 miles per hour making makos the fastest animals in the ocean. On average speed wise, between dolphins and sharks 50/50. Hope this answers the question.
yes they are
Speed. They can swim over 55 mph.
You are supposed to divide the dolphin's speed by the human's speed.
Not necessarily but they do have strong tailbones to help them swim faster!
About 20 knots. Check out Dolphins Virginia Beach if you would like to see them.
Because they use jet propulsion from their nostrils.
neither sea is just another way to say oceans.
Swim
I think that dolphins are probably faster than blue whales because dolphins are smaller than whales. Blue whales are MASSIVE and HUGE and they take a really slow time to get from one place to another. Dolphins are much smaller than blue whales, therefore, they're probably faster.
