Are you sure you didn't mean: muriatic acid? (old for HCl)

Historically hydrochloric acid was called muriatic acid or spirits of salt.

Hydrochloric acid, HCl, is a highly toxic gas, strongly acidic with water and corrosive to metals.

moriatic acid could not be found in chemical catalogues!
