Yes. This is preferred actually. The question is, how long does the oil basd poly need to cure before this can be done. Waxes are not as good as poly for protecting a piece of furniture, but poly finishes are rough and not as shiny, so completing the job is tough...using steel wool (use wiht water and murphys oil some) (0000) then make clean. Teh apply the paste wax and buff after it becomes hazy. Do not use on water based polys!!!
Most poepole say wait 30 days for the final poly coat to cure. I feel a week is fine. Many would disagree.
Alloy steel typically contains iron as the base element along with a varying mixture of carbon for strength and other alloying elements such as manganese, chromium, or nickel to enhance specific properties like hardness, corrosion resistance, or strength.
No. One is nickel, usually plated over a different base metal. The other is stainless steel. The object is usually made just of the stainless steel, with no plating. They can look similar in appearance, but the nickel plating can eventually wear off.
No, once steel has been brazed, the brazed joint cannot be removed without damaging the base metal. The brazing material becomes metallurgically bonded to the steel during the brazing process. If the brazed joint needs to be removed, the only way is to cut or grind it off, which will alter the original piece.
No, there are alloys that are magnetic. They contain at least one of the three main magnetic elements (iron, nickel, cobalt). The most common magnetic alloy is steel, which is iron and carbon. Another magnetic alloy is alnico, which is composed of aluminum, nickel and cobalt. I hope this helps.
The A3 base metal bezel in a Bulova watch is likely made of stainless steel or brass, as these are common materials used in watchmaking for their durability and resistance to corrosion. It is important to note that without specific information from the manufacturer, the exact type of metal used may vary.
Yes, as long as the polyurethane is oil-based.
yes
Oil-based polyurethane is made with oil as a base, providing a more durable and long-lasting finish. Water-based polyurethane, on the other hand, is made with water as a base and dries faster with less odor. Oil-based polyurethane tends to give a warmer tone to wood, while water-based polyurethane is clearer and does not yellow over time.
Yes, after allowing a sufficient time for the base to dry.
Paste
Before applying polyurethane, it is recommended to use a fine grit sandpaper, such as 220 grit, to prepare the surface by smoothing out any imperfections and creating a good base for the polyurethane to adhere to.
Oil-based polyurethane finishes are made with oil as the base and provide a more durable and long-lasting finish compared to water-based polyurethane finishes. Water-based polyurethane finishes are made with water as the base and are more environmentally friendly, dry faster, and have less odor compared to oil-based finishes.

Toothpaste is a weak base (pH 9.9)
calcium hydroxide
Ketchup is an acidic paste.
Yes, you can,and it's very good for that use. However if the concrete is bare, you must apply an epoxy primer before the polyurethane finish.
