I am not sure what a electrode is,
but I substituted a wire for pencil lead and it worked, but it didn't work as well as a wire
pencil is use in chromography because the pencil is made from lead
Pencil lead is very narrow. Millimeter can be used to measure it.
A "pencil lead" is a mixture of the graphite allotrope of carbon mixed with clay and baked hard. While a pencil lead will conduct electricity, it can not be used to make a light bulb.
There is no lead in pencil - Pencil is made from graphite
graphite ^ Wrong, that's another material used in a pencil which doesn't cause lead poisoning
An electrode is used by the EDM (electro discharge machine) in actually fabricating the injection mold. An EDM uses either carbon (like pencil lead) or other material to burn the part shape into the mold. It's not part of the mold per se but used to make it.
The stone used in a pencil is lead. x

Graphite is the mineral that is used to make the lead in a pencil. Despite its name, pencil "lead" is actually composed of graphite mixed with clay.

Lead is commonly used to make the electrodes in automobile batteries. Lead-acid batteries are the most common type of battery found in cars, and they consist of lead dioxide as the positive electrode and sponge lead as the negative electrode.
A typical lead pencil does not actually contain lead. The "lead" in a pencil is made of graphite, which is a crystalline form of carbon. Therefore, there is 0% lead in a lead pencil.
It has to do with the kind of graphite or material used as the lead for the pencil.
Graphite is used in pencil lead and is also used as a lubricant due to its low friction properties.
Graphite is used to make pencil lead, but it is not a form of coal.
On average, a pencil lead can last for about 2,000 to 4,000 words, depending on the pressure used when writing and the thickness of the lead.
