Punctuated Equilibria is a theory proposed by Stephen Jay Gould and Niles Eldredge to explain patterns of speciation in the fossil record. They pointed out that the record seems to show most species undergo long periods of relatively little change (stasis), then undergo rapid bursts of change at irregular (punctuated) intervals. Evolution did not seem to proceed at a stately, constant, slow speed. Gould and Eldredge explained this by taking the standard idea of how species form (allopatric speciation, or speciation in small isolated groups at the periphery of populations) and showing that this process would produce exactly the pattern which is observed in the fossil record. Essentially, evolution and speciation can occur rapidly in small isolated populations, sometimes too quickly for the fossil record to track all of the intermediate forms. The result is what looks like abrupt emergence of forms with little or no transitional stages, when in reality the evolution had occurred through intermediate stages, only too quickly for the slow process of fossilization to capture it.
Recurrent thoughts or images that intrude on a person's consciousness are often referred to as intrusive thoughts. These thoughts can be disturbing, unwanted, or distressing, and may be difficult to control or get rid of. They are commonly associated with conditions like anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD, and depression.
No, but you might be able to imagine it if you know how they think. There is no noise that comes out when you think unless you are whispering.
The process of transforming thoughts into messages and delivering them to an audience is called communication. It involves encoding thoughts into a message, transmitting the message through a selected channel, and decoding the message by the audience to understand the intended meaning.

The brain is capable of processing multiple thoughts simultaneously, but the exact number of conscious thoughts it can hold at one time is unknown and may vary among individuals. Our ability to focus and prioritize certain thoughts can influence how many thoughts we can actively hold in our consciousness at a given time.

On his return trip to England, Darwin thought about the tortoises and their vegetation compared to the height of the animals.
The branch of psychology that is focused on understanding the internal physical events and processes that correspond with experiences and behavior is called biopsychology or psychobiology. It examines how biological processes, such as brain activity and genetics, influence thoughts, feelings, and actions.
there are many ways to punctuate thought in literature. the first way is to italicize the thoughts or the other way is to . one last way is that you could just add "i thought" in the sentence.
It is just a natural process, directed by natural laws and driven by fundamental natural tendencies. We are just one level up from biological information evolution; we are biological information evolution on thinking information evolution level. Some other animals also have simple and primitive emotions, logic, strategies, and thoughts. And there are surely many other intelligent lives in the universe. Nature created intelligent lives for what it cannot do itself --- information evolution on thinking information level --- which has higher evolution efficiency than natural information evolution.
You would call this tendency cognitive consistency or cognitive equilibrium. It refers to the human tendency to strive for consistency in thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes to reduce psychological discomfort.
