No, aluminum is, but as with many metal oxides (glass and rust come to mind) it is not.
Aluminum is more malleable than glass. Malleability refers to a material's ability to deform under stress without breaking, and aluminum can be easily shaped and stretched into thin sheets. In contrast, glass is brittle and tends to shatter instead of deforming when subjected to stress. Therefore, aluminum is the more malleable of the two materials.
Aluminum is generally considered better for the environment than glass because it is more easily recyclable and requires less energy to produce.
To make a mirror with aluminum foil and glass, you will need to attach a sheet of aluminum foil to the back of the glass using a strong adhesive. Ensure the foil is smooth and free from wrinkles to create a reflective surface. It's important to note that this DIY mirror will not provide the same clarity and reflectivity as a traditional glass mirror.
The properties of aluminum are consistent because aluminum is a pure element with a uniform atomic structure. Lead-glass, on the other hand, is a composite material made up of lead and glass, which can vary in composition and texture, leading to different properties. The variations in lead-glass properties stem from differences in the ratios of lead to glass and the manufacturing process.
Glass and Aluminum storefront costs vary by the amount of metal and type of glass used. The thicker the glass the more expensive it is per square foot.A typical union installed storefront door, UNINSTALLED, in New York can range between $1,000.00 - $5,0000.00 and installation at aminimumwill run three and four hundred dollars. Here is a company that has a CAD aluminum storefront program that will be released into production in a few months that will cut down on the cost of estimating aluminum storefronts with glass for glass contractors, installers, and glaziers.Check them out: www.AlumCloud.Com

The glass weighs 6.25lbs per sq. ft. (1" insulated units: 1/4" over 1/4" w/ 1/2" air space). Assume that 1/4" glass weighs 3.125lbs. per sq. ft. On aluminum storefront, i am not certain.

Only aluminum is continually recyclable. Paper has a one cycle recycle life. Plastic costs more in processing and transportation costs than the plastic resins are worth. Household pay more to recycle plastic than it would cost to bury it. Glass is not cost effective to recycle because it costs more to clean and separate it than it costs to make new glass. The energy to make new glass is about the same as recycling used glass.
