Yes it could, though probably not at hurricane strength. In 2004 Hurricane Ivan went inland (typically after the hurricane hit the coast and goes a bit inland they are more like a tropical depression) and went back to sea.
The above link below a moving graphic of part of Ivan's path.
There where torrential rains all the way up into the northeast.
The hurricane season lasts from June 1st to November 30th. So any time during this time Georgia could be hit by a hurricane. But August-November would be most likely because the storms that form of the coast of Africa move along the equator and then curve northward. Some times these storms move up the coast of Florida and hit Savanna Georgia and other parts as well. Georgia also gets storms from the gulf of Mexico too.
Hurricanes can cause significant damage to a state by producing strong winds, heavy rainfall, and storm surge. While a hurricane can devastate local areas within a state, it is unlikely to completely destroy an entire state. Emergency response efforts and preparedness measures can help mitigate the impact of a hurricane on a state's infrastructure and population.
Uranium mining and processing could potentially impact Georgia's environment and public health due to radiation exposure, potential water contamination, and land disruption. Regulations and monitoring are in place to minimize these risks.
A palindrome for a hurricane's center could be "eye." The eye of a hurricane is the calm, clear center surrounded by strong winds and rain.
The damage caused by Hurricane Katrina could have been minimized if they would move all of the homes located behind the levies to higher ground. The human suffering could have been alleviated if everyone had followed the evacuation orders.

In 1793, the invention that affected Georgia's cotton industry was the cotton gin. Eli Whitney's invention made an economic impact as more cotton could be produced and exported. Whitney's machine could separate the cottonseed from the cotton fiber. Prior to this invention, this was done by hand and required many man-hours.
The Hurricane could fly at about 340 mph.

You could try, but it's not very smart to try to run away from a hurricane, because there is no way you could possibly outrun it.
It is not known how or when the world will end, but it is unlikely that a hurricane could bring about doomsday.
"Effects of Wind Speed on Tree Stability": investigate how different wind speeds affect the stability of various types of trees. "Hurricane Formation in a Bottle": create a model to demonstrate the process of hurricane formation using water, food coloring, and a spinning mechanism. "Comparing the Impact of Hurricane Categories on Building Materials": test different building materials to see how they withstand simulated hurricane conditions of varying categories.
The land lottery was basicaly a lottery but with land and it afected the economy because of the iron people could find in the mountains in Georgia. The swamp area and the mountains were the two best parts you could get.
