I watched a show on the History Channel about the possibility to terraform Mars.

Mars has a thin atmosphere including oxygen and carbon gases. There is water in the rocks and it looks like the north pole may have ice too. One suggestion was to put a satellite in orbit around Mars and use solar to heat up the surface. It would take many years to heat up the planet but it would also create a breathable atmosphere.

The settlement could even create greenhouses to grow plants on the surface and live in a sealed environment and underground until things get better on the surface.

It would be a great idea if a meteor fell to Earth and no one is left on our planet.

I did find out that we haven't the technology to create warp drive yet so it could take 6 months to get there though.
