Synthetic Fibres are man made fibres that are derived from either petroleum, cellulose (wood of various types) and from a combination of petroleum and natural products. Their development involves the use of manufacturing processes of various types, They are produced artificially by processing and chemical treatment of certain substances

E.G- Rayon is made from cellulose.

Natural Fibres are fibres that are obtianed from a plant, animal or minerals. Some of the natural fibres like vegetable fibres are obtained from various parts of the plants. They are provided by nature in readymade form. It includes the protein fibres such as wool and silk, the cellulose fibres such as cotton and linen, and the mineral gibre asbestos.

What are the examples of natural and synthetic fibers?

Cotton and wool are natural; nylon is synthetic.

Are natural fibers stronger than synthetic fibers?

It depends on the specific type of natural and synthetic fibers being compared. In general, synthetic fibers like nylon and polyester are often stronger than natural fibers like cotton and wool. However, natural fibers can also be strong in their own right, such as silk or hemp.

What is the difference between manufactured fibers and synthetic fibers?

How can you say that natural fibers are better than synthetic fibers?

They aren't.

What are Similarities between natural fibres and synthetic fibres?

Both natural and synthetic fibers are used in textile production and can be woven or knitted into fabrics. Both types of fibers can be engineered to have specific properties such as strength, durability, and moisture-wicking abilities. Additionally, both natural and synthetic fibers can be blended together to create fabrics with a combination of desirable characteristics.

How can you tell synthetic fibers from natural fibers?

You can tell synthetic fibers from natural fibers by looking at the label or tag on the product. Synthetic fibers are usually made from chemicals like polyester, nylon, or acrylic, while natural fibers come from plants (cotton, linen) or animals (wool, silk). Additionally, natural fibers tend to be more breathable and may have a more irregular texture compared to the smooth, uniform appearance of synthetic fibers.
