Methane is a far more potent greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, and animals are a source of methane. So animals do contribute to global warming. Of course, animals have always been producing methane and it's difficult to stop that. Human activity, on the other hand, is something we can control, and is potentially more harmful anyway. No. Some may be in decline because of climate change, like the polar bear, but even now the evidence to support global warming is being refuted. Ice caps are coming back with massive gains, back to pre 1979 levels. There is in fact some evidence that the planet is cooling, not warming. But let us not lose sight of the fact that we still should do all possible to combat pollution, and give all endangered animals the habitat and protection they deserve.
