Hedgehogs do not carry rabies. When they have a new smell they like they foam at the mouth and spread it on their quills. This action is often mistaken for rabies. This is NOT rabies - it's called self-annointing. No one really knows why they do it, but this is not rabies

hippos typically dont have rabies but if for some odd reason (which has probably happened before) hippos can get rabies most other mammals. hippos can get rabies from getting bitten by another animal with rabies. who know how that could happen but it could happen and probably has.
