Days are longer.
It depends on their location and other natural factors. The further somewhere is from the equator, the colder its winter will be. So places further from the equator are more likely to get snow. Places with high mountains in those areas far from the equator are more likely to get snow than at ground level. Winds and even sea currents can have an impact. So there are lots of reasons why some places get snow.
The regions closer to the equator are hotter and more moist than those further from the equator. They receive more solar energy than the poles.
Actually the warmest are found closer to the tropics (23° North and South of the Equator). This is because those areas get sunlight directly overhead where the radiation of the Sun passes through the least atmosphere and has the greatest energy.

Somalia.Sudan and Ethiopia are north of the equator, but Somalia extends south, just barely to the equator, which passes through Uganda, Kenya, and Lake Victoria in eastern Africa. Please look at a map of Africa and see where those places are.

Arabian Sea is situated near equator. The places that are near equator those are hot and warm. Arabian Sea is the best example. The places that are far from equator those are cold and frozen. Places that are close to the equator do not experience much change in the amount of daylight and darkness there is throughout the year. So while the solstices are happening in those parts of the world, they do not experience any major differences. The further you get from the equator and the closer you get to the poles, the more noticeable the effect of a solstice is.
The closer the towns are toward the equator there is a better chasnce it wont get cold enough to snow there but since there are places far away from the equator those places are colder so there is a better chance it will snow there.
The Earth's spherical shape causes sunlight to be spread over a larger area as it moves away from the equator towards the poles. This spread reduces the intensity of the sunlight received, leading to less heat being received in those regions. Additionally, the angle at which sunlight strikes the Earth's surface becomes more oblique away from the equator, further decreasing the amount of heat received.
Latitudes and longitudes cross the whole Earth. The Equator crosses only those places close to the middle.
The further south or north from the equator, the shallower the angle of the sun's rays hitting the earth's surface. This means that the rays travel through the atmosphere further and so have time to cool. The sun's rays hit the equator dead on, concentrated, but they hit the North and South pole at an angle, so the heat is spread out over a larger area.
