Our mass and our weight on Earth just so happens to be really close numbers here on Earth because we were created here. Mass= The space your body takes up or how much volume you take up. Weight=the amount of gravity pulling you down. So say we were to go to the moon. Your mass would be much more than your weight since there is hardly any gravity on the moon.

An objects what is a measure of the amount of matter on the object compared to known masses?

An object's mass is a measure of the amount of matter it contains, and it can be compared to known masses using a balance scale or other measuring instruments. Mass is commonly measured in units such as kilograms or grams.

What is the term for the amount of substance measured by a laboratory balance?

The term for the amount of substance measured by a laboratory balance is "mass." It refers to the quantity of matter in an object or substance, typically measured in grams or kilograms using a balance.

The amount of dark matter in the universe important?

Yes it is important because on basis of dark matter amount our universe will expand.

Do molecules and atoms have weight?

Atoms are matter, and all matter has mass. In that light, any (and every) atom has mass. Different atoms of different elements have different masses, as you would expect. As atomic numbers increase, the atomic mass of an atom increases, but we also need to account for the different isotopes of different elements. Isotopes are different "configurations" of the same element where there are different numbers of neutrons in the nucleus. This gives rise to different masses for different elements, and also for different isotopes of the elements. There is more to this discussion, and there are other questions here that are already posted and answered. Some of them are linked below.

Do all rocks weigh the same if they have a different mass but the same weight?

Do all rocks weigh the same if they have a different mass but the same weight? Let's look at the question without one bit of it..... "Do all rocks weigh the same if they have ......... .... ... the same weight?" If things are the same weight, then they weigh the same.

Can different kinds of matter take up the same amount of space but have different masses?

Yes. The amount of space matter takes up is volume. Different substances have different densities, which are calculated by mass divided by volume most commonly in the unit g/cm^3 (grams per cubic centimeter). Mass depends on the nucleus/i of the substance, while volume depends on its nucleus/i as well as the electrical field formed by the repulsion of electrons.

Why different objects have different masses?

Objects have different mass because they not weighted the same..

What actually causes gravity. What actually pulls the matter down?

Gravity is caused by the masses of the objects involved. Different objects attract each other, just because they have a certain amount of a property called "mass".Gravity is caused by the masses of the objects involved. Why do objects of different masses have different effects?

Objects of different masses have different effects because mass is a measure of the amount of matter in an object. Objects with more mass have more inertia, making them harder to accelerate or decelerate. Additionally, objects with more mass experience stronger gravitational forces than objects with less mass.

Do objects of the same size and shape have the same mass?

Not necessarily. Mass is a measure of the amount of matter in an object, so two objects of the same size and shape can have different masses if they are made of different materials or have different densities.

How is weight from mass?

They are different because mass is a measurement of the amount of matter in an object, weight is the quantity of heaviness.

Why the shape and the amount of matter are not used in classifying matter?

there different

Do equal masses of different kinds of matter have the same thermal energy?

No, equal masses of different kinds of matter do not necessarily have the same thermal energy because thermal energy depends on factors such as the specific heat capacity and temperature of the substance. Different materials have different abilities to store and release thermal energy, so even if they have the same mass, their thermal energy content may vary.

An objects what is a measure of the amount of matter in the object compared to known masses?

Theoretically it is known as the word mass .That is the best answer.

How is weight diffirent from mass?

They are different because mass is a measurement of the amount of matter in an object, weight is the quantity of heaviness.

Why do objects have different mass?

Objects have different mass due to the amount of matter they contain. Mass is a measure of the total amount of material within an object, which can vary depending on factors such as size, density, and composition. Heavier objects have more mass because they contain more matter, while lighter objects have less mass because they contain less matter.
