Aerobic respiration

This type of respiration is the most common and produces more energy than anaerobic respiration. Aerobic respiration uses oxygen and glucose. It is a chemical process controlled by enzymes - they control the rate at which energy is released. Aerobic respiration is when food that we eat is broken down to release energy which is used by the body for important life processes. During exercise we need more oxygen so the rate of aerobic respiration increases.

Aerobic respiration can be summarised as an equation:

Glucose + Oxygen ---> Water + Carbon dioxide + Energy

C6H12O6 + 6O2 ---> 6H2O + 6 CO2 + 2900 kj

Do aerobic respiration anaerobic respiration and fermentation release energy?

Yes they release energy from glucose and store in ATP.Fermentation also anerobic process.

Why is aerobic respiration better than aerobic respiration for producing energy in your muscles?

Because anaerobic respiration releases less energy than aerobic respiration.

Differences between anaerobic respiration and aerobic respiration?

What type of respiration are carbon dioxide water and energy the products of?

The process of (aerobic) cellular respiration combines a carbohydrate with oxygen to release energy. This oxidation reaction is the "reverse" of photosynthesis.

is Respiration provides energy for cells without using oxygen?

No, respiration that occurs without the use of oxygen is anaerobic respiration. It is less efficient than aerobic respiration and produces lactic acid or ethanol as byproducts. Oxygen is necessary for the most efficient production of energy in cells through aerobic respiration.

What process requires the presence of oxygen to release energy?

Aerobic respiration is the process that requires the presence of oxygen to release energy. During aerobic respiration, glucose is broken down in the presence of oxygen to produce ATP, which is the energy currency of the cell.

Which type of respiration produces the most energy?

Aerobic respiration produces the most energy in the form of ATP. This process occurs in the presence of oxygen and involves the complete breakdown of glucose molecules to release a high amount of energy, compared to anaerobic respiration.

What are the types of respiration?

There are two main types of respiration: aerobic respiration, which requires oxygen to produce energy by metabolizing glucose, and anaerobic respiration, which occurs in the absence of oxygen and produces energy without fully metabolizing glucose.
