Eroto means "beloved, or lovely", while Ares is traditionally connected with the Greek word ἀρή (arē), the Ionic form of the Doric ἀρά (ara), "bane, ruin, curse, imprecation"

In Greek myth, Ares was God of War and manly courage and blood lust.

Erato is a Muse she was named Muse of erotic poetry and mimic imitation and represented holding a lyre.

Another Erato "beloved" was a nymph in Arkadia. She was a prophetess of the god Pan and the wife of Arkas, eponymous king of Arkadia. She was mother of Elatus, Apheidas, and Azan. She may have been the same as Chrysopelia.
