What colour wire goes to the breaker using 12-2 wire?

For a typical 12-2 wire, the black wire is the "hot" wire that connects to the breaker, the white wire is the neutral wire that connects to the neutral bus bar, and the bare copper wire is the ground wire that connects to the ground bus bar in the circuit panel.

How do you wire duplex receptacle using14-3 wire Also with 14-2 wire The wires are already ran to 15 amp breakers and capped off. i would like to hook them up. Thank You?

Sort of confusing are you using 14-3 just for the receptacle with 14-2 to the breaker or the other way around. Either way doesn't matter since you only need 2 wires and a ground for the outlets. The 14-3 should have Red, Black, White and bare wires. 14-2 should have Black, White and bare. All you need are Black, White and Bare. Forget about the red one. Hook the two outlets together with short jumper wires about 6 inches long. Looking at the outlet with the ground facing down, the bare wire goes on the bottom green terminal. The white wire goes on the left side of the outlet. The black goes on the right side of the outlet. Take the 6 inch jumper wire and go from the left side of one outlet to the left side of the second outlet. White to white, black to black, bare to bare. Connect the wires coming from the breaker to the other terminals on one of the outlets. Power comes in to one outlet and then to the second. If the wires are capped in the breaker box, you only need to connect the Black White and bare ones. Do this with the power off.

When wiring a wall switch which color wire goes on the common terminal screws?

A typical switch doesn't have a Common screw in the strictest sense, it just has two screws which are each side of the switch. You probably have a a 3-way switch. If you are hooking up a 3-way switch as a normal switch, then connect the Black (Hot) wire to the common and the load to the side of the switch that makes UP the on direction and DOWN is off and doesn't get connected. You can determine for sure if you have a 3-way switch because the word ON and OFF don't appear on the toggle.

Does it matter which side of the outlet the black wire is connected to?

Yes, it does matter which side of the outlet the black wire is connected to. The black wire is typically the hot wire and should be connected to the brass-colored screw on the side of the outlet. Connecting it to the wrong side could result in electrical hazards or malfunctioning of the outlet.

Is Black wire vs black wire with white stripe positive or negative?

Any marking (a white stripe, bump molded into the cable, different wire colours) is an indication for your reference only. It doesn't matter, as long as you connect the marked side on the amplifier to the same polarity on the speaker side.

How do you wire the alternator on a 1968 Ford Mustang?

Hello. If your car has a charge indicator light, you should have a white wire with a black stripe hooked to the stator post, a white wire to the fld post, a black wire with a yellow stripe hooked to the bat post, and a black wire with a red stripe hooked to the ground post. The white wire on the fld post goes to the F terminal on the voltage regulator, the white wire with black stripe on the stator terminal goes over to the S post on the voltage regulator, the black wire with the yellow stripe on the bat post goes to the hot side of the starter solenoid, and the black wire on the grd post goes over to one of the attaching screws on the voltage regulator and also to the passenger side of the engine block, where it is attached with the same bolt that holds the negative battery cable to the block. If your car has the charge indicator gauge instead of the light, the stator post is not used.
