Lime can help manage chigger populations, but it may not kill them outright. Lime alters the soil pH and can create an environment that is less conducive to chigger survival. However, for effective control, it's often recommended to use targeted insecticides or other pest management strategies. Regular yard maintenance, such as mowing and removing debris, can also help reduce chigger habitats.
Really they are different. Because 'mortar' which is usually called refers to the mixture of cement, sand and water. Whereas, lime mortar refers to the mixture of lime, sand and water. But both are used as a binding material.

Yes chiggers do eat meat..
Well of course chiggers die, as every living thing does. On your skin (and don't listen to the others who tell you otherwise) you can put clear nailpolish on your skin, which suffocates them. Or, just put rubbing alcohol on them every so often. It works, OK? I have had plenty of chiggers in my life! And I'm perfectly healthy! This tactic works great, and you won't develop any health concerns. Believe me, I've had hundreds of chiggers.
it will but it will probably kill your cat too
