yes it could probably burn through anything or most things because this has basically come from the core of the earth and you can guess how hot that would be.
^adding to that...it can "burn" anything, absolutely. As far as "burning through", "melting", "melting through" or "liquifying" everything...no. There are some things that can resist it...concrete and Iron (Iron's melting point is 2750°F...while Lava is on average 1300-2400°F), steel and other metals, as well as dirt and other rocks would not be "melted" by it.
A slab of volcanic rock is called a "lava flow" or a "lava rock".
its a volcano so a volcano has lava and it could burn everything i think
Basalt is not a form of volcanic material; it is a type of rock that is formed from solidified lava. Volcanic materials typically include lava, ash, and tephra, which are all products of volcanic eruptions.
Lava flow is hot flowing lava that goes on for miles and destroys everything in its way.well, almost everything. It is actually masses of molten rock that can pour from a volcano during an eruption. It bulldoses practically everything in its path!
A vulcanologist is most likely to study the cooling of lava after a volcanic eruption

A volcanic eruption can lead to a lot of death to everything and once hit it is a very sudden death and the lava with eventually turn to rock and you will be a statue after a while because you are preserved under the hard lava...
Lava is a hot liquid from the inside of the earth and ash is a lava powder, which is very hot.
When it erupted, it killed everything around it, eg: Pompii by suffocation (ash). There was little lava but the lava did burn trees and fields etc.
Lava does not burn rock because rock is not flammable.

i think a lava pipe is where lava seeps out
