Static Electricity.
The only form of plasma on Earth found in nature is lightning. Lightning occurs when an electrical charge builds up in the atmosphere and discharges, creating a plasma state of matter.
The buildup of charges on an object is called static electricity. This occurs when there is an imbalance of positive and negative charges on the surface of an object, leading to the attraction or repulsion of other objects.
Before lightning strikes, electrical charges build up within a storm cloud. As the charges separate, a negative charge forms at the bottom of the cloud and a positive charge builds up on the ground below. When the difference in charge becomes strong enough, a conductive path is created for the lightning bolt to travel between the cloud and the ground.
When you walk on carpet, you can build up a charge of static electricity. If you then touch a metal object, the charge will flow from you to the metal object because metals are good conductors of electricity. This transfer of charge is known as static discharge.
