Direct quote from my textbook: "Elements are the chemical building blocks of matter."
MATTER
The periodic table contains all the known elements, which are the basic building blocks of matter. These elements are organized based on their atomic number, electron configuration, and chemical properties.
The basic Sumerian building material was brick and wood.
Group I elements are called alkali metals as they are generally basic in nature
William James, an American psychologist, is known for developing a periodic table of the elements of consciousness. He believed that consciousness could be broken down into basic elements similar to how chemical elements are organized in the periodic table.
Basic information about and classifications of gallium are on the periodic table.

No. They are two different elements. They are not compounds, which are made up of elements Look at a periodic table. Those are your most basic building blocks as a beginner chemist.
Atoms are the basic building blocks that all materials are made from. They are made up of subatomic particles like protons, neutrons, and electrons.
The basic Sumerian building material was brick and wood.
The basic elements typically refer to the essential building blocks of nature: earth, air, fire, and water. Each element is associated with different characteristics and properties, and they are often used symbolically in various belief systems, philosophies, and practices.

Are you talking of the 4 basic elements, the elements in the periodic table or referring to chemicals?
Atoms are the basic building blocks of matter, and they combine to form elements. Elements are composed of one type of atom and can be found on the periodic table. When atoms of different elements are chemically bonded together, they form molecules.

From what I understand (no formal training) the 'Periodic table' is a list of the basic building blocks of everything around us or 'Elements'. Everything is comprised or made of one or more of these elements. For instance gold (on the 'P' table) cannot be broken down into anything else, or magnesium or carbon, which is one of the elements the human body is made of.
