In 1996 Hans Kammerlander (who downclimbed a few snowless sections) skied it. The first uninterrupted ski descent was made by Davo Karnicar in 2000 via the standard Southeast Ridge route, and snowboard descents were made by Stefan Gatt and Marco Siffredi in 2001. Also Kit Deslauries (sp)with her husband Rob DesLauriers and friend Jimmy Chin became the first woman to ski it. I remember being amazed when I read this in a Ski Magazine. Some of the steepest sections are slightly ridiculous especially considering the risk factor. Also a movie was made about Yuichiro Miura's attempt to ski a steep portion of everest.
