You couldn't do much except look around, and then only from the protection of a very specialized landing craft. The average surface temperature is 460oc (860oF), hot enough to melt all plastics and some metals. The surface atmospheric pressure is nearly 100 times greater than Earth's, similar to what you would find at a depth of 1 km (3300 ft) in Earth's oceans. There is no oxygen or water in the atmosphere. The lower atmosphere is mainly Carbon Dioxide CO2, and the upper atmosphere is a constant thick cloud cover of mainly Sulfur Dioxide SO2 and Sulfuric Acid H2SO4, a runaway greenhouse effect. The rocky surface is rugged, with meteor craters, active volcanoes and lava flows. The surface of Venus is a fairly good approximation of the medieval concept of Hell.
