Alan Graham MacDiarmid ONZ (April 14, 1927 - February 7, 2007) was a chemist, and one of three recipients of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2000.

All scientists who are native to you (born?, working?, living? in your country i.e. where you're born?, working?, living?) are probably 'foreign' to me 'cause I most likely live (or was born or am working) in Another Country!

Anyhow, most scientists are really 'internationals', working in (and for) the world science community and knowledge.

Foreign scientists have made significant contributions to Biology. For example, Gregor Mendel, an Austrian monk, discovered the principles of inheritance through his work with pea plants. Alexander Fleming, a Scottish biologist, discovered penicillin, the first antibiotic. Barbara McClintock, an American geneticist, made groundbreaking discoveries in genetics, including the discovery of transposable elements.

There are many foreign scientist that have contributed to the understanding of biology. One scientist is Marie Curie and she discovered how to use radiation as a cancer treatment.
