for milk of magnesia preperation in the lab procedure as follows
prepare solution of 1.5 gm sodium hydroxide in 15 ml water and add to it 5.25gm light MgO
next in another beaker prepare solution of 4.75 gm Mg(SO4)2 in 10 ml water
mix both and stir well and keep aside .decant the liquid and strain the residue.wash the residue with hot water to get sulphate free residue.disperse this in 50 ml water.and make up the final vol to 100ml

this procedure is for 100ml and calculations need to be done as required
