u could change the speedo gear in the tail stock of the tranny, remove speed sensor, and they are colour coded, find one with 1 less tooth, you may have to go to a dealership to get them. with one less tooth, the speedo cable will turn just slightly slower, therefore compensating the 10 mph difference. ummmmm-k. I think you mean horse, and that would be Silver.

A worn or frayed speedometer cable will make the speedometer shouter. As the speedometer cable becomes more frayed the speedometer will eventually quit working.
Yes , I BELIEVE the last year for a speedometer cable on a Ford Explorer was the 1995 model year so the 1991 Ford Ranger would definitely have a speedometer cable
On a 1995 Ford Ranger : The ODOMETER is near the center of your speedometer
1996 ranger does not have speedo cable it is electronic
The 1999 Ford Ranger pickup truck speedometer sensor diagram can be obtained from most Ford dealerships. The speedometer sensor diagram can also be found at most auto-parts stores.

I don't believe it has one , the Ford Explorers 1996 and newer models don't have a conventional speedometer cable , they have an electronic speedometer and a vehicle speed sensor ( VSS )
/need to know the reasons on why this happened?
That is the correct spelling of "ranger" (a forestry official, or specialized soldier).
You probably have the wrong size wheels and or tires for your speedometer gear. Here is more input: * I would suspect someone has installed tires that are the incorrect size. Check the correct original equipment size. For example, on a Ford Ranger the tires and wheel is 225/70-15. I would suspect it has a tire smaller than this. Install the correct size tires.
