Mark 1 version - side-lamps (and headlight bulbs) can be replaced following the directions in the handbook, but it's all done by touch and feel since you can't see a thing. It helps if your hands and fingers are not too large, and you might be bent over the front of the car for a while especially if the bulb retaining clip decides to spring off from its fitting. after replacing one bulb I took it to local independent repair shop who did it in 5 minutes for a fiver.
Mark 2 - bulb replacement requires the removal of the font bumper - can be a DIY job (but beware if you have headlamp washers set into bumper). Spread the clip sideways slightly and the bulb will pull out. Put new bulb in and replace.
