Cells let water in or out of there systems through a process called osmosis.

Osmosis is the movement of water across a cell membrane from high concentration to low concentration.

If there is a higher concentrations of solute ( a substance that isn't water ex. salt) in the cell, the water will move into the cell. The cell will eventually fill with water and burst

If the is a higher concentration of water in the cell than in the enviroment, water will move out of the cell and the cell will eventually shrink and shrivel

It's one of these answers: a. The red blood cells will absorb water and increase in size. b. The red blood cells will lose water and decrease in size. c. The red blood cells will first absorb water, then lose water and maintain their normal size. d. The red blood cells will first lose water, then absorb water, and finally double in size. Why are animal cells more likely to burst than plant cells when placed in distillers water?

Unlike animal cells, plant cells are unable to control the compostiton of fluid around their cell. Plant cells are normally permanetly bathed in almost pure water, which is constantly absorbed from the plants roots. Water entering a plant cell by osmosis causes the protoplast to swell and press on the cell wall. Because the cell wall is capable of only very limited expansion, a pressure builds up on it that resists the entry of further water. However animal cells do not have this ability and let constant water in, causing it to burst.

What is the importance of makes the plant cells turgid?

If it's a plant cell it needs good, fully-functioning palisade cells to let water flow in and out. A plant cell needs to be turgid so that the plant have a support and structure.
