The hole in ozone layer is pretty big. It has been shrinking however.
The hole in the ozone layer is located over the poles that is Antarctica and arctic. It is because the process of ozone depletion requires very low temperatures to initiate and that temperature is only available at the poles.
The ozone hole over Antarctica forms due to the presence of human-made chemicals like chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and halons, which break down ozone molecules. The extreme cold temperatures in the Antarctic stratosphere create the ideal conditions for these chemicals to deplete the ozone layer, leading to the formation of the ozone hole.
As an indicator of ozone layer health, the "ozone hole" was at near record size last year. No real indicator that the ozone layer is healing. But if someone doesn't jump up and down on the panic button continuously, it is very easy for the anti-greens to make up snide remarks like the one shown above. The ozone is near or inside the stratospheric region. It is in the form of ozone layer.
The hole in the ozone layer above New Zealand, as well as in other regions, is mainly due to the release of ozone-depleting substances such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) into the atmosphere. These substances break down ozone molecules in the stratosphere, leading to the formation of the ozone hole. New Zealand's location and atmospheric conditions contribute to the severity of the ozone hole above the region.
The ozone hole is over Antarctica. it is because of the low temperatures there.

You can find ozone hole over south pole. It is located near Antarctica.

The suggestion to the growth of ozone hole is that it must be stopped. It can cause problems in the near future.
The ozone hole is larger over Antarctica. It is because CFC's carried in various parts are carried to poles by westerly's.
The areas near poles. These areas have suffered.

The only areas that have a thinning are (referred to as the hole) is near each pole when it is in their winter phase. The sun is unable to keep up production of ozone. No noticeable change occurs where the sun can hit this area all of the year.
The ozone hole, and its size varies by time of year. No point in answering that part of the question. As to what is being done to prevent ozone layer depletion, we are asking silly questions on the internet. So far we have banned CFCs, which have been shown to deplete ozone (Nature also makes some, but we cannot fine Her). We still fly aircraft high in the atmosphere, even though we know this also depletes ozone. Other than that, we thump our chests, and point fingers elsewhere...
