To sing with your diaphragm, start by standing or sitting up straight to allow for proper posture. Take a deep breath, ensuring that your abdomen expands as you inhale, rather than your chest. As you exhale, engage your diaphragm by tightening your abdominal muscles gently, which helps to control your breath and support your voice. Practicing this technique regularly will improve your vocal strength and control.
When the diaphragm contracts the air is pushed out to the lungs and we breath. also when you project your voice you diaphragm rises causing you to take deeper breaths- this is why you breath more when you project your voice\sing etc
if I'm right or wrong it might be the diaphragm of the microphone because when you sing into it it hits the small padding and into the wire coil, coming out as a electric current .But as i said before i might be wrong so please correct me if you wish.

You do sing from your throat but it is mostly down to your diaphragm that is why you should stand up straight when singing to project your voice and sing out. if you slouch your unable to achieve what you could standing up.
One can sing better by sitting up straight and allowing their diaphragm to expand. Another thing that helps is by practicing scales with an instrument such as the piano.
