Volcanoes are the only kind of mountains that erupt. Normal mountains are chunks of the earth's crust that got pushed up together, or shoved on top of one another, and therefore stick up as they do. Volcanoes, however, have a hollow center leading to the magma under the earth's surface. When the pressure of the magma below becomes too great, the volcano will erupt. Messy. This is just a really rough explanation of what goes on. It's pretty cool though, go research Eyjafjallajoekull, it went off not too long ago in Iceland and cause quite a stir ;)
Himalayas mountains never erupt and they will not erupt.
