Ever since Katrina the land has sunk slightly, the trees in the marshlands has snapped in half, land has eroded. There were many cracks in the roads before the hurricane, but now the cracks have increased in size. Every now and than while driving through a neighborhood boats continue to sit on the side of the road containing a water line from the flood caused by the levee break. Many neighborhoods have never been fixed or gutted leaving a big red X on the front door which was used to indicate if any bodies were found in the house following the storm. Many of the water lines throughout New Orleans are still there today as a constant reminder of what happened on the day Katrina hit land.
