it became a site by the vikings leaving large hills that were actally homes for the vikings and then people later on found theses hills and made it a sitte by inviting people to come and see it and decided to make it a site!

A site can be listed as world heritage site if it is confirmed by UNESCO and nominated by somebody. Also it has to make an affect to the world like if we loose this site it does a damage to our world
