Protozoa are commonly called "single-celled organisms" or simply "protists."
Protists are a very large, diverse group of organisms, including the plant-like protists (algae), fungi-like protists, and the animal-like protists (protozoans). Some examples are:CiliaFlagellaPseudopodiaAmoeba proteusEuglena gracilis
The name for protists that live in water is plankton. They are microscopic organisms that form the base of the aquatic food chain.
slime molds
Another name for fungus-like protists is "slime molds." These organisms exhibit characteristics similar to both fungi and protists, and they are typically found in moist environments, where they play a role in decomposition. Slime molds can exist as single-celled organisms or form multicellular structures when conditions are favorable.
