They are made to function in different ways. A blood cell is round and smooth because it has to slip and slide through veins. It does not look like a nerve cell that has long rod looking things coming off of it because a nerve cell is not made to do the job of a blood cell.

How do eukaryotic cells differ from each other?

Eukaryotic cells can differ from each other in terms of size, shape, function, and the organelles they contain. Different eukaryotic cells have specialized structures that enable them to perform specific functions. Additionally, eukaryotic cells can vary in the number and arrangement of organelles, impacting their overall structure and capabilities.

What is cytology's?

Cytology is the study of the chemistry, structure, and function of a cell. Cytology is the study of cell structure, composition, & interaction with other cells. Cytology is the medical and scientific study of cells. Cytology is the branch of Biology concerned with the structure and function of plant and animal cells.

How does the structure of an onion skin cell differ from other plant cells?

The structure of an onion skin cell differs from other plant cells in that it lacks chloroplasts, which are responsible for photosynthesis. Onion skin cells also have a unique rectangular shape and a thin cell wall compared to other plant cells.

How do chloroplasts differ in function and structure between plant cells and animal cells?

Chloroplasts are organelles found in plant cells that are responsible for photosynthesis, the process by which plants convert sunlight into energy. They contain chlorophyll, a green pigment that captures light energy. Animal cells do not have chloroplasts and cannot perform photosynthesis. In terms of structure, chloroplasts in plant cells are larger and more complex than other organelles, with a double membrane and internal structures called thylakoids where photosynthesis takes place.

What are the spikes in an animal virus structure?

They are not spikes - they are arms. They use these 'arms' to catch other cells to mutate them or eat them.

How are bacterial cells distinct from plant and animal cells in terms of their structure and functions?

Bacterial cells are distinct from plant and animal cells in several ways. Structurally, bacterial cells lack a nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles found in plant and animal cells. Functionally, bacterial cells are typically smaller and simpler in structure, but they are capable of carrying out essential functions such as reproduction, metabolism, and responding to their environment. Plant and animal cells, on the other hand, are more complex and specialized, with distinct organelles and structures that allow them to perform specific functions related to growth, development, and maintenance of the organism.
