They are adapted to the grassland environment by being able to graze on grass and digest it thoroughly. Buffalo are ruminants, just like cows are. They are also able to travel long distances and move from one grazing area to another to naturally alleviate the pressure put on the grasses to produce more. They are large and aggressive, and have horns and hooves that can put a predator in its place when need-be. When that fails, they can run quite quickly to escape their enemies.
