If a virus enters a bacteria cell, the virus will try to infiltrate the cell's central code. If the cell catches it in time, it may be stopped (like a disease virus), but many times the bacterial virus will reproduce inside the cell. Hidden virus will become part of the cell's genetic material code upon entering, and will eventually reproduce. Active virus are easier to spot, as they try to start reproducing after "laying eggs" getting inside the cell.

Virus bacteria or fungi which is the smallest?

A virus is typically the smallest of these three biological entities, as it is much smaller than bacteria and fungi. Viruses are even smaller than the smallest bacteria and fungi, and can only replicate inside the cells of a living host organism.

What is the name for a DNA virus specifically suited for the infestation of bacteria?

A bacteriophage is a type of virus that infects and replicates within bacteria cells. It specifically targets bacteria and has a unique structure and life cycle adapted for this purpose.

Is white blood cells a virus or bacteria?

White blood cells are normal parts of the human body. They are neither viruses nor bacteria.

Why should penicillin never be used to treat viral diseases?

Some infections are caused by germs called bacteria. These bacterial infections respond to antibiotics-if the right one is used. Virus are germs that do not respond to antibiotics. Antibiotics work in many different ways to destroy bacteria. But viruses are usually to small and work inside cells therefore antiotics don't work.

Is a virus cell in the body a bacteriaophage?

Bacteriaophage litterally means Eater of Bacteria. Viruses don't eat bacteria, they hijack the cellular machinery to create more copies. Viruses do kill bacteria, but that is distinct from eating them.

What is a virus called that invades bacteria?

A virus that infects bacteria is called a bacteriophage. Bacteriophages are specific to infecting bacterial cells and can inject their genetic material into the host bacterium, leading to replication and eventual destruction of the bacterial cell.

What are infected cells called?

Infected cells are typically referred to as host cells that have been invaded by a virus, bacteria, or other microorganism.
