Greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide (CO2) are emitted whenever something is burnt. If this was something like dead leaves, which took CO2 from the atmosphere when they grew, then this does NOT increase the levels of greenhouse gases.

If it is coal, oil or natural gas (fossil fuels) that we burn, then we always release CO2 emissions. This adds CO2 to the atmosphere that has been hidden away for 300 million years. This is why atmospheric levels of CO2 are rising.

There is no way to control this emission except by NOT burning the fossil fuel. So we have to move to an alternative: renewable energy.

Renewable energy like solar, water and wind power is all pollution free, with no greenhouse gas emissions. All countries have to move quickly to renewable energy and stop burning fossil fuels (especially coal, which is the most polluting).

What policies and agreements are in place to control the emission of these greenhouse gases?

None, and I do mean absolutely None.

What will most likely increase the greenhouse effect?

Increased emission of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane from human activities like burning fossil fuels and deforestation.

Which agreement seeks to control the level of greenhouse gases?

KYOTO Protocol

How can you use the word emission in a sentence?

The high radiation emission by plutonium makes it dangerous to handle and store. A nocturnal emission is not always an indication of sexual dreams.

What are the objectives of Kyoto protocol?

The purpose of the Kyoto Protocol was to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases across the globe. 192 nations have signed the Kyoto Protocol, though only 37 of them have binding carbon emission targets.

What gases are not greenhouse gas?

Greenhouse gases must have three atoms, so gases like hydrogen (H2) and Oxygen (O2) are not greenhouse gases.

How are atmospheric gases like the gases in a greenhouse?

The glass on the greenhouse stops temperature from leaving or entering like the gases do to the earth. The atmospheric gases are called 'greenhouse gases' based on the idea that the gases 'trap' heat like the walls of a greenhouse do

Is it possible for the ozone layer to recover from global warming?

Yes, it is possible for the ozone layer to recover from global warming. This can be done by stopping the emission of greenhouse gases.

What does the greenhouse do to the gases from the atmosphere?

The greenhouse effect warms the gases in the atmosphere.

Why do greenhouse gases warm the atmosphere but other gases do not?

Greenhouse gases don't "warm the atmosphere". What they do is trap heat. Why is because that's the definition of "greenhouse gas". Okay, a little more detail: they're transparent to high frequency radiation (visible light and UV) but largely opaque to lower frequency radiation (like IR). So energy in the form of visible light gets to the surface just fine, but when it's time to reradiate it as heat, greenhouse gases block the emission of the lower frequency IR "heat" radiation.

Does nuclear energy have a greenhouse emission?

No. They have none.

How do you use the words 'greenhouse gases' in a sentence?

Greenhouse gases are naturally occurring gases but by increasing the concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere we are contributing to global warming.
