Go to your local hardware store and ask for an orifice to convert your stove from natural gas to propane. I am sure a salesperson will tell you how to install it if it doesn't come in a package with instructions.

Do you need to install a range hood if you convert from a electric range to a natural gas range?

It is not necessary to install a range hood simply because you have a natural gas range. Range hoods simply remove odors, heat and moisture from the home. There is not enough natural gas put out from a range to require a separate filtration unit.

Can visions by corning ware be used on a gas or propane range?

Can you use propane gas with natural gas logs why not?

No. you have to change the nozzles for the burners and for the stove portion. The replacement nozzles generally come on the rear of the stove upper right or left corner on a small 2" strip. the nozzles are small with 6flat sides to allow tightening with a wrench. to gain access to the nozzles for the range top generally you have to lift the top, remove the burner, unscrew the propane nozzle and attach the natural gas nozzle. the natural gas nozzle has a larger orifice to allow the gas to pass through to the actual burner. the stove is a bit more complicated but can be done by anyone who is semi mechanically inclined.

What percentage of natural gas at the well is propane?

Propane can vary from as low as 0.1% to 4% on a percent mol basis of the well stream. I attached a link from Union Gas which gives the range as 0.1 to 1.5%, but this is specific to their system. From other sources, I found values as high as 4%. I was unable to identify an "average" percentage, as each gas field is different.

Yes, but you will have to purchase the conversion kit from your nearest AGA provider and have the range converted by a gas company. We are in the process of doing just that. Not terribly expensive and well worth it.

How to convert a propane gas range to natural gas?

The conversion of a natural gas appliance for use with propane involves replacing the jets that regulate the rate of flow of the fuel. Natural gas and propane have different abilities to deliver heat energy when they burn. Propane, a product of petrochemical refining, has more heat energy per cubic foot, about 13.8kWh, than does natural gas, a petroleum gas that is extracted directly from the ground, and has about 10.8kWh of energy per cubic foot. What that means in this case is that the jets will have to be replaces with ones that have a smaller hole in them. This allows the burners to deliver the same performance with propane as they did with natural gas. IMPORTANT! Failure to replace the jets with the proper ones for the new fuel will cause the range to run hotter than its designers engineered it for! Don't fool around with this one. A fire could cost you the structure in which the range is operated if you don't do things right. Of course that wouldn't matter much to you if you were unfortunate enough to be inside when it burned down. A word to the wise is sufficient. Call your propane supplier and get the straight scoop. They're the experts.
