In the case of a stab wound to the abdomen, first you wear a globe and explore the wound with a finger, the smaller the wound , the more suspicious I would be...this could be a deep, deep stab, maybe with an ice breaker. I will send it to routine X-Ray and Operation Room for an exploratory abdominal laparotomy and exploration to see if there is any internal organ wounded or if there is any hemorrhage, after we have review the content of the abdominal cavity and nothing is bleeding, or I don't see any wounds . I will take blood smears and cultures of the abdominal fluid. Lets close the incision. I will leave a temporary drainage through the wound stab (Penrose made of latex-like material) and wait to see what kind of material is coming out. Patient goes to ICU for post-op follow up.
