The one I've seen is a Mardi Gras mask. Cut a paper plate in half. Glue (or staple) a craft stick to the lower corner of the flat side. Cut a slot to look through. Cut a 3" (or so) Styrofoam ball in half, glue glitter or paint with glitter paint, glue to paper plate just above the slot, as two eyes. Hold mask in front of face. If desired, paint or glue other face features on mask. Staple two craft pipe cleaners to the top of the mask as antenna.

I have also heard that some people use a large Styrofoam ball as a base to make a papermache mask, which is then removed.

Can you spraypaint a styrofoam ball?

Yes, you can spray paint a styrofoam ball. However, it's important to use a primer specifically designed for styrofoam to prevent the paint from eating away at the material. Make sure to apply light coats of paint to avoid melting the styrofoam.

How were you able to eclipse the bigger styrofoam ball?

I was able to eclipse the bigger styrofoam ball by positioning myself in a way that blocked the light source, creating a shadow over it. By carefully adjusting my angle and distance, I ensured that the larger ball was completely obscured from view. This technique relies on understanding the relationship between light, objects, and perspective.

How do you make a solar system with styrofoam of balls?

To create a solar system model using Styrofoam balls, start by selecting different sizes of balls to represent the sun and planets, with the largest ball as the sun. Paint or cover each ball with appropriate colors or textures to resemble the celestial bodies, such as yellow for the sun and various colors for the planets. Use wire or sticks to attach the planets to a base or to the sun, positioning them at varying distances to simulate their orbits. Finally, you can add details like rings for Saturn using thin strips of Styrofoam or paper.

What reaches terminal velocity first a golf ball or a Styrofoam ball?

A golf ball will reach terminal velocity before a Styrofoam ball. This is because the golf ball is denser and has a smaller surface area relative to its mass, allowing it to overcome air resistance more effectively. The Styrofoam ball, being lighter and having a larger surface area relative to its mass, experiences greater drag, which slows its fall. Consequently, the golf ball will accelerate to its terminal velocity faster than the Styrofoam ball.

What is the density of a styrofoam ball?

The density of a styrofoam ball is very low, typically around 0.05 grams per cubic centimeter. This low density is due to the fact that styrofoam is made up of mostly air trapped within its structure.
