You add universal indicator and then compare the colour it turns to an example ph scale. The redder the Ui the more acidic it will be, if it is green it will be neutral and if it is blue/purple it will be alkali.

Is acid rain vinegar?

No. Vinegar is a solution of acetic acid dissolved in water. The acidity in acid rain is due mostly to sulfuric and nitric acids. In some cases, though, the acidity of acid rain is similar to that of vinegar.

How does the acidity of acid rain compared to the acidity of natural rainwater?

Natural rainwater has a pH of around 5.6. I believe rain is considered to be "acid rain" when it has a pH of 5.0 or below.

Difference between free acidity and total acidity in gastric juice?

Gastric juice consists of hydrochloric acid, a strong acid along with many weak acids. Free acidity is a measure of acidity of hydrochloric acid alone but total acidity is a measure of combined acidity due to hydrochloric acid and many weak acids (organic acids and proteins).

How do you measure rain acidity?

With a PH scale.. Acid rain is usually around 3-4 on the PH scale 1 - 6 = Acidic 7 = Neutral 8 - 14 = Alkaline

What is the use of acid value?

What gas does acid rain make?

Acid rain is created when pollutants such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides combine with water vapor in the atmosphere to form sulfuric acid and nitric acid. These acids are responsible for the acidity of rainwater.

Yes, acid rain is acid pollution. The exhaust from manufacturing put chemicals into the air that make it acidic. That acidity is carried by the air all over the globe and comes down when it rains.

Chemicals in the air can combine with rain to produce acid rain which is harmful to the environment. Which of these is most likely to be the pH of acid rain?

The pH of acid rain can range from 4.0 to 4.4, making it slightly acidic. This acidity can harm vegetation, aquatic life, and infrastructure.
