Symptoms include a SES code P0301 -304 (misfire codes) along with rough and high idles. A simple test will show if this is the problem. Using brake cleaner with the car on, spray around the gasket at each cylinder. if the idle changes then you have found your issue. FOr a how-to procedure with pictures email/message me.

What's under the intake is not a hose, it's a pipe which a hose attaches to behind the intake manifold near the firewall. If the hose is leaking, it's a relatively easy task to replace it. If the pipe is leaking, you will have to remove the intake manifold which is not an easy task (minimum 6 hours to remove and replace the manifold!)
The intake manifold is leaking from the water jacket. That is a common problem on V8 and V6 engines over a period of time. That is the only thing that can leak water back there. Probably just a leaking intake gasket. When it's surging, try pressing downward (with most of your bodyweight) on the intake. If it settles out you need to replace the intake gasket.
That depends if you have a four or 6 cylinder engine...On a four cylinder they are right on top of the engine...there is a black coil pack on the top that has four 10 mm bolts and 1 plug holding it on. Remove the pack and the plugs are underneath... On a six cylinder they are under the intake It must be removed to replace the plugs
