Siltstone layer containing the dinosaur footprints was turned into rock by?

This process involves the compaction and cementation of sediment over time, where pressure from overlying materials compresses the sediments, and minerals precipitate from groundwater, binding the particles together. As a result, the soft silt becomes a solid rock formation, preserving the dinosaur footprints within it.
